In operation since 1989, ALAR has provided both software development and consulting services to companies in Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom. Clients have included Agra Monenco, Aspen Technology, Bantrel, Exxon and British Petroleum (BP) Chemicals, Exploration and Oil, and most BP refineries worldwide.

As one of the founders of cfiXML (www.cfiXML.org)  the international practical information exchange format for Oil & Gas and Engineering industries, the Alar team specializes in building data exchange links between engineering computer programs, databases and document management systems.

Alar is the primary contractor to the Automating Equipment Exchange (AEX) and Global Valve Cross-Reference eCatalog (GVCC)  FIATECH consortium projects (www.fiatech.org).
